What TEMP are you going to store your Vette in, for winter ???
I am putting a heater in my garage right now and have insulated the entire garage. Ive put a bottle of Gasoline freshener and gas line antifreeze/moisture removal in the gas tank, as well as sufficient antifreeze in the radiator. Dont know if i should keep the garage at 40 degrees...or even colder . What do u think, and, what are you going to keep your garage at to store your vette ???
Thanks, RR

Mine is stored at about 60F in a commercial storage facility. Very little humidity to keep the frame in good non-rusting condition. Done this for 10 years.

Just installed a heater in my attached garage with the t-stat set at 60 degrees. The garage gets down to 45 on very cold winter days.Another plus my bedrooms over the garage are warmer.
I would go at least 50-55 in your case..

85 degrees to -25 degrees depending on the time of day. Gotta luv Nebraska weather
Actually, the Vette will stay in my garage, and it gets cold, but not below freezing.

If you are not going to work on the Vette then it makes no sense to heat the garage. The warmer the garage is the faster the metal will rust. If you could get your car cold enough it would never rust. Also warmer air can hold much more water.

I also believe cold is better as stated above. I leave mine in a well ventilated garage and just follow the usual storage procedures

What ever the outside temps are, thats about what my garage is. Nice thing is in about January all molecular activity stops because of the temps our Canadian friends send this way

Mine sits in an unheated garage. A little warmer than outside where it can get as low as 0, -10 and the coldest I can remember -26degrees! :cry I try to at least start her up once a week. I'll take a drive provided the roads are snow & salt free!

Ever hear of CRYOGENICS  . I put my vette in the storage Facility that I own and let her rest in silent slumber at sub zero temperatures ( January and February). She thaws out slowly in late March, and comes right back to life about the first weekend in April. Never had a problem. As Scott said, I think the molecular activity almost comes to a stand still and the aging process can almost be reversed. :bs :jester
P.S. Here in Iowa, it's actually colder than Minnesota because of the strong cold Northern winds. Why so windy here? That's because Minnesota BLOWS and Missouri SUCKS so much!

My home heater is next to the vette in the garage. Most of the time it is like 68-70 degrees in there in the winter. It's nice to work on the vette in the middle of winter in a t shirt and jeans :D

75 degrees. And outside. That's what it's been in Northern California this week. By the way... What's "snow"?

Can we get points deducted for those from the south who insist on bragging about their weather in these nothern winter threads? :jester
But as far as storage I keep mine in an unheated garage, so it probably never gets to cold, only slightly below zero...
The biggest concern I have for rust is temperature fluctuations around freezing in the spring that cause condensation on the metal parts, nothing rusts at -40

I run a little heater all winter - probably keeps the garage a constant 50 F. I turn a secound one on if I'm gonna be working in the garage. The only real reason I run the small heater to keep the relative humidity/condensation down.
