Default 350 lock up Converter Trans

Yes Sir; I have a front pump seal leaking, so I have to pull the dang thing. Is there enough change, if I changed the trans. to a 700. R, while I have it out. that it would make it worth the change little loan the 1500 in parts, the labor would be the same less 200 for resealing the existing r, or is this just a waste of time I only drive it a couple of thousand miles a year. I would like some other Opinions , Thank's???

I changed mine from Turbo 350 to 700r4 about 10 years ago.. a huge improvement, the lower first gear gives a much stronger launch and the Overdrive lowers rpm at hiway speed and increases mpg.. if you don't drive much, it may not be enough benefit to justify cost tho.

I just did the change to the 700R. My TH350 lost 3 gear. I found a 700R on craiglist that needed nothing for $200 and spent $1500 on labor/parts to install it. Require modifications to the crossmember and the driveshaft. Lots of posts on this topic. An amazing upgrade from the TH350. Faster out of the hole, lower Rpms on the highway, and car runs cooler too.

I went 200 4R. Second car I’ve done this on. Makes a world of difference, especially if you do any highway miles.

Better gearing for a street car unless you have really lousy gearing in the back.
