This will knock your socks off...
Well I finally went and clayed the Vette today. Heck it was in the mid 80's, so I figured "What the heck!"
I did notice a difference.
And that dang Maguire's came through with a great shine again

are you referring to "clay bar"? Its a red stiff puddy that is used with a spray on "water" like materal.
I only ask cuz "clay bar" should only be used to remove road tar and paint from street signs or road center stripes.

You can get clay bars from Maguire's, Mothers, and even Zaino.
I used soapy water to lubricate the surface, then you just gently slide it around on the surface. It removes the small surface contamination form the paint, leaving a glassy smooth finish when you are done. then wash and rinse throughly, and apply a good layer of wax, and whatever you like to use after.....
This is the first time that i have tried it, and I was impressed.
You can goto the car care section for more information.....

Clay bars work great. It is about the only way to really get your paint clean. Itis amazing to see all that junk coming out of your paint. You just have to be careful you keep the surface well lubricated and you fold in the dirt frequently. They work really well for pulling water spots and buges off your glass too when you wash it :yesnod:

I did mine earlier this year in the spring. Before I did it my paint was not smooth and felt like sandpaper. After doing the first panel I was truly amazed......smooth like glass and helped the shine. I finished my vette....did my Explorer...then did my wifes' Maxima!
