My first "registered"car show....got 4th place!!!!!
I went to the Corvettes in Paradise show today held at the Holiday Isles Resort in Islamorada, Fl. Mind you this was my very first show I ever entered, and I WON A 4th PLACE AWARD!!!!.
I had no idea what to expect since this was my first, didn't know what the judges check, or how beautiful the competition was (and the Vettes there were VERY nice, about 175 total between judged and not judged).
4th might not seem like such a great thing, but I'm on top of the world!!! I think my car is nice, but I did not expect to win anything----I just wanted the learning experience for next time and to learn what to correct and clean, etc. :yesnod:
It is November 2nd, and it was HOT there. High 80's and a blazing sun overhead, but all in all a ton of fun!!!!!
PS-Thanks to my friend JJ who was a great help with the "dirty work". The man sure knows how to push a cleaning rag!!!

Mark--
Good for you
I wish I could have made the show (as a spectator). I was there last year and it was great.
Congrats!!

Re: My first "registered"car show....got 4th place!!!!! (C3 Shark Tank)
Thanks guys!!!
I don't know how folks that do this show thing keep their sanity! I was watching the guys and gals who obviously go to many shows clean, brush, vacuum, wax, wipe, polish, buff, etc. then repeat the above an hour later as a speck of dust or a finger print showed up. I give them a lot of credit!!
Now I know how the moms and dads who put their daughters in a beauty pagent feel. If you daughter loses, it's like a judge saying your daughter is not as beautiful as the other girls.
Basically a judge is telling you that Joe Blows car is cleaner/nicer than yours---even though you busted your butt for a month to get it ready.
Like I said, it was a great learning experience and a lot of fun.
