Default LS Swap - Will bolt-on shifter shaft work with Tremec shifter?

Good Morning All,

Does anybody know if the bolt pattern on this shifter shaft:

will match this Tremec shifter?:

Thanks,

Scott

Not exactly sure on the Tremec, but I used that shifter on a Richmond 6 speed (same bolt pattern). That shifter sat up a bit high because of the tranny and shifter mount location. You might end up wanting it cut/welded anyway.

I have a 66 with a Tremec and I used that shifter and it bolted right in. The handle also fit the Hurst Competition Plus shifter I had in the car when I had a Muncie transmission. Jerry

Scott, I thought you were fabricating a mount for this thing to mount aft on the tranny and then connect to the shift shaft?

Yes, that is the plan, I am just trying to figure out what shift lever to use with it.

If that is the same shifter handle as Hurst sell, then I used it on my tremec tko600 box with modified stock Tremec shifter (modified with a welded in offset to locate it correctly in the factory console). I also used a shifter plate from Hurst to show the correct shift pattern but keep it all looking factory.

As from supplier, with shifter modified to move it sideways.:

The rotation required to locate it better in the console. Unfortunately I don't seem to have taken a picture after welding.

Resultant position:

Once car was reassembled (in 1st gear in picture):

Thanks for the pictures, how does the shifter feel offset like that? I think that if I did not know it was offset under there I may not notice, but if I knew it was it would always fell funny to me.

It feels fine. It's solid enough that there's not any flex or anything, it's never bothered me, I can't say that I can tell when using it at all.
