@540 vette i also have a 3/8 line. I want to use that as a return. The standard inlet on the tank of the return original return is only 1/4, well it looks like -1/4". Didn't have a good round spot to measure.
Are you modifying that return inlet? Ohh and pictures are welcome.

I have the 50001 kit: pump, fittings and hoses.
I have not yet any idea how to hook up the low pressure side hose with a wider diameter, it looks 1/2".,to the standard 3/8 tank supply outlet. Doesn't make sence to me to just find fittings and hook it up. That standard inlet on return and supply, will be te restricting factor.

Blocking of the mechanical pump. Do i just remove te pump and leave the "push rod" in?

I am going to use the 3/8 for my return and add a 6AN for the supply. Check Jegs and their AN fittings.

I’m curious what’s others have to say on this.

I removed it. I figured any extra friction and weight that’s unneeded should just be removed. There was way more pressure between the rod and plate than I expected, though and as soon as the last bolt popped off the pressure of it letting go gave me a nice combination cut-bruise...

Do you have pictures of your aluminum 3/8" line routing? I'm looking for ideas before I start.

I also used Earls Vapor Guard for feed line, and used the steel original 3/8 steel line for return line, very easy and stright forward install,, you can find all connectors you need at Earls or many sellers on ebay as well, remember, this is one area you really get what you pay for, so shop wisely, ,

Also am using Holley mat in tank,,, we'll worth it,

I routed it exactly like the original line.
