Smokes only on start-up or all the time?
start-up = valve guide seals
continually = rings

Hi FB#1... There are a lot of guesses here already, but really unlikely some major mechanical issue just happened while your car sat for 3 mos. and now suddenly became apparent. look for something small and simple. Are you sure it's oil smoke? Is it pretty blue?

Is this a carbureted motor? Are you running a choke - is the choke staying partially shut? Is it a Quadrajet? Not sure on the newer models, but on older models I had a friend whose secondary's would pull shut on partial acceleration after a tension spring failed - smoked constantly as it was really rich.

Have you pulled the plugs and looked at them - are they fouled with oil or just look like the engine is rich? It could even be ignition related, with you pumping unburnt fuel out the back due to missing cylinders.

It's got to be something pretty simple that just happened, unless you saw this problem before.

I agree. I have seen fuel stabilizers cause lost of smoke on startup. Also, fuel can suck up lots of moisture in a humid location. Just pump the old gas out and put in fresh. Carbs can also get REALY gummed up sitting.....

Agreed. It can't be anything serious. It sat for 3 months, not 3 years.
