On my 79 I had to get into the wiring schematics and found
that buried in the harness there is a diode that is prone to fail.
The diode is in the harness near/behind the stereo.
I used a heavier amp rated diode and never had another problem.

On mine the key won't turn the lock. Owners' manual says it is the round key.... and it FITS but will not TURN.
I put a Clifford alarm in it ... with Ign Kill of course. :lol:

Mine works.
I had to adjust the switch for the hood when I got the car, but it works now.

Are folks having problems with the alarm system running the battery down?
Don't know about the earlier years but my 82's alarm will only go off for about 3 or 4 minutes then shuts off to save the battery. After that the starter interupt will not let you start the car till you reset the alarm. It only happened to me once and had to disconnect the battery to reset the alarm. After that it started fine.
