The publishing world hasn't been going so good lately and I found out this afternoon that my position is being eliminated. I haven't done the HR paperwork yet and there's still a small glimmer of hope.

However, it's starting to sink in--I was out in the garage working on the 'Vette to try and take my mind off stuff. It wasn't going well and I snapped a little. My Mag Light is toast and I think I may hae done some damage to my rear spindles. Probably going to have a bruise on my leg tomorrow from kicking the mother-effer, too.

Now, excuse me while I give the censor software a workout:

Having been on Active Duty for the last year, I knew the economy was bad but holy cow Batman, it is worse than I imagined. Everyone is in fear for their jobs. I believe that mine may go another year, but with Soutwestern Bell laying off 11,000 folks nobody will be buying Telecom products. The wife goes payday to payday waiting on the inevitable pink slip. Hope Uncle Sam still has a spot for me. This doesn't look like it is going to get better anytime soon.

Believe I will just step into my hole and pull it in behind me. Hope we all can ride this out.

Feel for ya. It will get us all.

Call me unrealistic, but it is my experience that all good, hard working people get back into the job market before too long. Don't lose the faith, you're dealing with alot of :bs right now but I'm sure it'll work out in the long run. Either way good luck, and don't hurt the damn car!
