I AM F ING PISSED
a few weeks ago, the people who cut the grass around here blew crap over all the cars, including the Vette. I went and had a heart to heart with the managment. well, it happened again. I was PISSED. the manager gave me a gift certificate to a touchless car wash across the street, so i took the car over. so I'm waiting for the car, and the manager comes in. "who owns the Vette?" he takes me outside and starts saying I have a crappy paint job and it's not real auto paint,(It's the factory paint) yada yada yada I take one look at the car, and I went through the F ing roof. the morons had sprayed the front with some sort of tar cleaner, and the paint has big stains on it. SoI ask the natural question. "What are you going to do about it?" "NOTHING" WHAT? you F up my paint and you will do NOTHING? :cuss he then points to a sign that reads like war and peace printed on a playing card, that eveidently says they can screw your car up good and by turning the car over to them, they are free of liability. This was yesterday.
Today, I've spent 2 hours with rubbing compound and I have about 60% of the stains off the car. I'm too damn tired to finish it. I'll go finish it later this evening. :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad

Personally I'd be talking to my lawyer, by then. Lawyers are nortorious for finding ways around that liability stuff. Its sad that people have no integrity. They ruin something of yours or lay harm to it and feel no obligation to set what was done wrong, right.
By the way, which rubbing compound are you using?
I would be through the roof myself. Hang in there!

I'm using the 3m 3000009 and then the 3m finish restorer. I am losing about 10% of the shine, but it's better than those blotches. as far as the lawyer route, the paint is bad enough wiht the road rash and heat cracks that it would probably get thrown out, and to be honest, the money I'd put into the lawyer's pocket would put a real nice paint job on the car

I never ever go to a car wash. :nonod:
it all scrapes off together.
Lawn job ?  Who ordered the donuts ?
I can relate, Mark. When we lived in the condo - the lawn guys just cut
the grass and blew the dirt off of the parking lot. They didn't care where it
ended up - which was always on the cars. I made it a point to find out
when the grass was cut - and park in a remote lot for that day.

Mark that really sux :nonod: . I think most if not all of us would be pretty upset. I would take pictures and see about taking them to small claims court. That is just :bs if they think they can just go about damaging peoples property as they feel with total disregard of the cars owners. I'd probably also be calling the cops to get a report, property damage like that can't be legal :( .

I would excercise your freedom of speech. Stand out in front of the car wash on the corner and talk to the people who go to the place. Tell the manager you aren't leaving until he does something to make you happy.

Want it clean? You'll have to go to a car wash.
Think I'm kidding?

It's extreme, but a late night spray session with a jug of Round-Up will solve the original problem in short order. You might call it the Yosemite Sam method - "don't get mad, get even"... I must say the managers intentions were honorable...

If it was a chain, or even if it's not, spread the word about their crap service. The more people you tell the more it hurts the business. And short of breaking the law, harass the crap out of the management.

Going up the chain is the first step as mentioned...
MOST IMPORTANT...
As I have found out in many cases a sign or disclamer on your ticket/recipt doesnt protect them from liability. Do you think if you put a sign on your car that said "Not responsible if I run you over" that it would fly. It is the same thing.
In most states they must use resonable care not to cause damage. You would have to fight it out that their methods were not safe, but the proof is in the puddin' or in your case the paint. Take pictures if you have not already and document everything that is done and said by them.
Im not a lawyer but have heard of and gone through situations like this.
Good Luck

Putting up a sign that says they're not responsible if they mess up your paint doesn't legally let them off the hook. It's just a sign. What the sign does is give them something to point at when there is a problem, so that people will go away thinking they have no recourse.
