As the title states.. I want to pull the body this weekend on my '74 but the strap will put too much pressure on the windows. I need to put the windows down. I'll also be removing the doors at a later time but for now I just need them down.
How can I put them down without power? Can I hook a battery up somewhere and give the switches power?

I'd power them at the motor.

Been a while since I did the motors but I think you can pull the connector at the motor and find 2 wires. 1 is for up, the other for down. The motor grounds to the door. Hook a battery up to a wire and ground at the motor case.
I think this is right.

You have two choices..

Pull the door panels and power them down at the motor or pull the parking brake console and power them down at the switches.

Only way.
