Default No bites?? asking too much?? need opinions

I know the market isn't the greatest right now and I CAN wait until next spring, but I want to get a Harley and need to sell the car first.
I don't want to give the car away. Anybody have any suggestions?
I'm thinking about eBay
Thanks
Here is the For Sale link: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=387299
sorry, link should work now :smash:

Here's the link http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=387299

It isn't a bargain at that price, so you won't get many inquries here on the forum. It isn't overpriced though.

I know a lot of guys right now, who are looking for cars, purposely because the market is soft. With all the layoffs, I see a lot of toys going up for sale, and not a lot of takers. Combine that with the approaching cold season, and....

Good luck with it. The car looks like a nice one.

Right now - it's very difficult to sell any car above $5000... The market is very good to buy and very bad to sell...

You guys always seem to think the market is soft. People who sell on our site don't think so! :D

Nice car. I thought it was a pretty reasonable asking price. I too have thought about selling my 72, but if the market is that soft I guess I'll wait until spring.

$12k is a lot, but I wouldn't sell mine for less. I've been watching low mile '78 - '82s on ebay and I don't think you'll do much better than $8k-$9k this time of year. You will get a lot more people seeing your car on ebay though. If you can hold out until spring, you'll do a lot better. Good luck.

Why not added to vettefinders? There are a few 81s and yours is priced at the lower end.

The lack of emissions may be scaring some buyers off as well.

PaceCarTN,

My wife made me sell my little moped to get the Vette. I'll get another one when my Driver's License recovers! Man, that thing was a rush!!!

Keep the Vette, especially if you can wait a year.

2003 is HD's 100th Anniversary and many of the stealerships are putting heavy duty increases on the factory sticker prices. Next year some of the hype will be over and you can also expect to see some new models with the advanced V-Rod motor. When that happens the prices for the old air-cooled models will begin to drop.

If you already havn't, read some of the HD bulletin boards. Build quality is somewhat of a problem if you intend to ride very much - especially cam bearings on early Twin Cam 88s.

However, as garage art a HD is tough to beat.

With fall and winter approaching the 2 door rainsuit (Corvette) looks pretty attractive. Good Luck!

You know, that is one of the most pathetic sounding (but so true) statements I ever heard about owning a Harley.

I never thought I would see Harley bashing on a Corvette site.

Chris, you take a cheap shot at Harley every time someone posts something about one. Do you ride a ricer?

n8370c, Good luck selling your Vette and getting the Harley if that's what you want to do.

If the market is'nt soft, then why are magazines such as Chevy/Corvette Buyer's Guide literally packed with Corvettes that have been for sale for quite a while? There are so many Corvettes for sale the pics of the cars keep getting smaller & smaller & ......
