No not at all-I'm probably gonna sell it too. I just don't know.. it's too much for me to handle. I can always get a corvette when I'm out of school and can actually afford it :(

Sorry that you have to sell. You and Tom have put a LOT of work into that car.

Enjoy a more modest car and your Chinchilla. Corvettes are transient; education is forever. I never regret picking up a few pieces of education wallpaper. Served me well!

Sorry to here about it, you've put alot of money and heart in that vette you'll be sad to see it go but investing in an education is a far better thing.

Next time you'll be sure to buy one that already haaas the expensive stuff done.... right?

Don't be a stranger.

That stinks. Your vette has always been one of my favorites on the forum. Great color combo. Having just spent 8 years in college for unergrad and graduate school, I can relate to your situation. Hey....why not just get yourself a rich boyfriend?

Sorry to hear that Jenny. Sounds like your head is int he right place though. Worry about the important things right now and there will be time for the Vette later on. You sure you can't find someone to buy it and just be the custodian of it for a while only to sell it back to you when the time comes?

You're not abandoning the forum if you sell it, are you?

im selling my vette too cuase i cant afford the insurance and maintenance of it with my new jeep costs.... (#@$@$#@ military!!)

but look at it on the bright side...

you can now prepare financially to get a 68-72 cherry vette with chrome bumpers or a brand new vette!!

be positive.

its not goodbye, its just a financial break.

You don't know how much it hurts selling it. So much time, effort, money. I just hate being broke all the time, and *sigh* :(. It's turning into a really nice car, what a shame. :nonod: Thanks for everyone's support!

You are doing one of those stupid things wile your young and don't truly realize it until your older. Too bad your not going to ASU I’d give you 2.5 years of free rent in my nice one bedroom condo for that Vette.

Jenny, I'm also a student. I'm an MBA graduate student, work more than full time as an engineer, and I owned my '75 for 3 years while earning my engineering degree. Don't sell... Do your best to control your expenses and only spend when necessary. I always look forward to the time I was able to spend away from the books to spend with my Vette and certainly don't have the budget to make mine pristine. But slowly I work on it, with what money I have. As if paying for my MBA isn't expensive enough, I also am a home owner with more than a healthy mortgage. My Vette doesn't get the attn. that I wish it could but just knowing that I have one to tweak with keeps me content. Think a little more about selling it. You'll never recover what you put in and I think you'd regret it. You have your priorities right, and you don't have to make your Corvette your highest priority. Keep in on the back-burner for a few fun nights and weekends. :D

Cheers,

Stephen

Jen you have a very nice vette that you poured a lot of heart, soul & $$ into. As much as I hate to see you sell your vette, I think you've made a very smart decision to take care of your schooling 1st ;) . The longer you wait to get a degree the harder it gets.

I'm sure there is another vette with your name on it down the road ;) .

From someone who is very close to the whole situation...

Selling the car makes the most sense at this time.

We have both put a lot of $$ and time into it. And those that know me, know everything we did, we did "correct" and with good workmanship.

Jen has access to two other Corvettes (C2 & C3) to drive in the interim.... so she won't be on the outside looking in. :)

The car itself has not been the major financial sponge... there are other issues... but the car is the most expendable item at this time so it makes sense to sell it.

Since I have an inside track to the plan, rest assured there will be another Vette in her stall ASAP.

Tom

I though about selling mine many years ago. Then I got to thinking that it doesn't cost anything to put it up on blocks in the garage and park it. Also buying another one is not a good option when you know everything about your own car and put so much time and effort into it.

It sat for a couple of years untill I had the money to just use it as a pleasure car. I've always tried to own 2-3 cars even as a single person. That way I don't sweat it if one is down with problems.
