I've been waffling back and forth between the 276 and 282 for weeks now and after reading your post, I will probably go with the 276. I also think that is a good choice. Good Job.

5 years later and I still don’t regret the 276 over the 282 for fun street driving

Not surprised....on the street, lower duration cams are much more real world useful with better TQ than the higher duration cams, in general. Your 355 with a 225/230 duration is just about right, in my opinion, for a typical street 383 and still a bit higher than the way I went back in 2014 on my 355.

I opted for more lift .525 from the roller cam with slightly less duration for max mid range TQ with the AFR 180 heads at 219/225 duration, and like you, I am still completely satisfied that I stayed with my OEM 355 L-82 architecture. With 10.2 compression and my howards roller cam, my motor has strong low end TQ and killer mid range...............pulling hard to 6,000 RPM.

The only cam change I would do after 7 years now with the 355 is I would have gone slightly higher with the lift at .550 or .560 with similar duration since the AFR heads simply are fantastic at max airflow....I probably left a few ponies on the table with .525 lift but I do have instant throttle response with the current setup. All a balance and dance with no free ride.
