One Man, No lift engine removal...GHETTO Fabulous
Alright, I knew Id get ripped on for this extreme "Bubba" engine removal. But I am a bit proud. Only a few scratches, and some smashed fingers.

Interesting - I suggested you find a buddy and lift it out with a 4x4.
I guess you found another use for it !!
Make sure you didn't ding the edge of the deck, where the heads mount.
If you did, these shoud clean up with a file.
Congrats - now to get it onto a stand ...

I am guilty of this proceedure..I did it with my 79 CJ7, Rolled the V8 block over onto the frame to install a new pan gasket and pilot bearing...

Well if you can find a couple of strong enough 2X10's doubled up and a lengh of heavy chain and 7or 8 friends you can take one out that way as well, I have !

"Looks like someone got the VW bug and corvette shop manuals confused." :yesnod:
I like the green puddles
If you do this in your yard, you can dig a hole under the engine. Makes things easier
You are right to be proud!

It has great possibilities--"THE ORIGINAL BUBBA LOG"--we could market it on late nite TV--right before Slim Whitmans "I gotta love knot in my lariat" album and right after Popiels "POCKET FISHERMAN"

You pried it out of the engine compartment with a board on the fender and generated only MINOR scratches? What would you consider a major scratch?
What did you do, fill it with helium first?
In all seriousness, I applaud your "can do; find a way to make it work" approach. There is more than one way to change an engine.
