13's is pretty quick for an everyday, true street car, but not killer fast.
Reaction times are totally separate time from the E.T
Andy Jensen, in his 67 coupe is going to be at Beaversprings Dragway this Friday night. He goes 6.90's at over 200MPH!!!

No it won't. Reaction time is not figured into ET.

Re: First time at track: Went slow, had fun! (QuickVet)
Best 60 ft time was 2.081.
Seen some Z06ers post times from 1.92 to 2.138 so that makes me feel :).
I feel a 383 stroker in my near future. :yesnod:

Congrats! Great times!
So, let me get this straight. You got a Goodwrench 350 LM-1 and roller-cammed it (essentially the only major mod) and turned a 103-104 mph trap speed? (I assume you have a performance intake & exhaust) What does the rest of your drivetrain consist of? Something doesn't add up in my old gray-matter.

OK so it not just an LM1 but the short block is a big part of the eng and mine is pretty run of the mill.

Way to go. I know the first time you're up there sweat'n, so busy trying to stage that the green light is coming before ya know it. Just for reference, my best so far is 13.9 @ 102.... so you've got that baby tuned pretty good!

Ahh soo, TF23s! Plus a 4spd/3.70. It adds up now. Good driving (based on your 60 ft).
You’re in ZZ4 territory! Have fun!

Almost wish i had left the stock heads just so I could see what it would have run with them. But I was not going to tear into it again. Once was enough. Can't wait to get my stroker going. Sounds like a good winter project. :yesnod: House might have to wait another year. :jester

Re: First time at track: Went slow, had fun! (Fevre)
Good times. You can reduce time by practicing your driving. Launching better shifting better etc. I dropped .5 by learning the car better. A shift light made the car more consistant. Learning how to launch got me from 2.1X 60 foot times to 1.9X 60 foot times. Not always consistant but drag radials should solve this. I think 1.9X 60 foot is about all on street tires. Keep working at it.

Thanks all for your praise and input.
Just a follow up on post race inspection: found my throttle bracket had slide forward so I probaly was not getting all my sec. Must have happened on my first run since my last run was pretty close to my best run and I smoked the tires pretty good off the line. Tuffy did your typical discount muffler shop job of hooking up my headers to my exhaust system, leaks here and there plus I left one pipe longer than the other and they did not even them out like I asked when they connected the 2.5 pipe to the 2. :mad They will getting another visit from me soon.

Re: First time at track: Went slow, had fun! (Matt Gruber)
I wanted it right after the reducer but they put it another foot behind that. :mad I have coated headers and did not want the sensor welded to them, at least not by those clowns. I am still play with the jetting. I have to check the system for leaks since I am getting a way lean reading, along with popping, when reving while in the garage but a real rich reading and jerking while driving. Also need to hook up a vac gauge will driving to see if my pv is right. I am getting 13 on the vac gauge at idle I can't image my 8.5 valve is too high. Need to get a new timing light too.

Congrats on the runs, I am sure you and the vette will get faster, sure is fun to watch that tree!!! I will be a newbee pretty soon when I take my car to the strip. I have practiced a couple of times with a friend and a stop watch through a marked road here in town, not the same as the track though for sure! My best was about 13 flat at 110mph, but that again was just on the road. Keep up the good work and be safe!

Hope you feel as big a diff with that 850 dp as I did with the 750 on mine. It is way out of tune but still way more power than the 600. Be warned: it is like crack, one hit and your addicted. :yesnod:
