stripped holes on door sill plate
The screws that hold on the door sills just sit in the holes, has anyone found a way to tighten up the holes?
There is metal below the fiberglass that looks quite stripped...

Re: stripped holes on door sill plate (Fevre)
Fevres idea is pretty cool, I did the slightly "bubba" fix on mine and just cut and bent some paper clips into little L shaped pieces, but the other end in the hole and taped the other end on the fiberglass to hold it in place. That clip tightens up the hole enough for the screws to have something to hold onto.

I drilled mine out then glued plastic drywall screw anchors cut flush to the fiberglass. It has held up well so far.

You might want to go to a hardware store and see if you can find some oversized thread phillips-head screws (chrome or nickel) with the same head size. I did that for one of mine. A $.22 fix.

I was going to recommend trying the bent paperclip in the holes also :yesnod: .

fill the entire hole with 2 part epoxy-''J.B. WELD''-- let dry and re-drill the correct hole for your original screws-http://www.geocities.com/carlclub2/index.html
