My 75 feels like its a garbage truck, i think it was 3400 stock, with lots of top end work, fender flairs and my big A$$ it is probably at 3800 now.

You know, at 67 it just don't really matter any more--i just drive it.

I expect it would be lighter today. Aluminum heads, intake, and water pump. Hooker Super Comp headers. Added Borgeson for a slight increase over no power steering.
Lighter and jusssst a bit more powerful. Love that car!

My 76 with 468 iron head BBC, no spare tire, ac compressor removed, weighed in at 3520lbs. Add my 180lbs and I'm at 3700 lbs. Add the spare tire and air compressor and I'm probably over 3800lbs. Not sure of the cutoff but I believe I'm in the lead sled club to.

I think I need tp put this thing on a diet.

Anyone else running a lead sled?

According to the AIM, my 68 convertible weighs 3050 pounds. No AC. I've replaced a lot of stuff with aluminum..aluminum wheels, aluminum heads, eliminated the spare tire and carrier (50 pounds), aluminum brake calipers, aluminum serpentine kit accessory drive, aluminum water pump, and also a composite rear wheel spring (41 pounds is now 8 pounds). I have an aluminum radiator, but the 68 came with a stock aluminum radiator. If the AIM 3050 number is accurate, I estimate I'm easily at 2850 pounds. I can believe it. The 68 Convertible gives the impression it's a very flimsy car, just a lot of body flexing..the entire body is held on by about 8 bolts.

My 70 project car has an all aluminum BB. With no spare tire and carrier, aluminum wheels, aluminum calipers, aluminum radiator, composite rear spring there's a lot of weight loss. (This car is not driveable yet). Ohh!!! my great accomplishment. That gross heavy cast iron piece that attaches the steering wheel column to the base of the windshield frame has now been replaced with a much lighter stamped steel equivalent from a 1982 Corvette. Lot of work to get that cast iron monstrosity out of the car.
