Re: Question about Vettes made in Canada (Rick Church)
All vettes were made in St. Louis before the switch to Bowling Green in 82. Vettes to be exported to Canada are essentially the same, with minor differences in options available and adjustments made for cooler environment. Mid-70's is when Canada switched to SI, so gauges and spec were metric.

I believe Bowling Green production began in 1981. St. Louis production did not begin until the 1954 model year. All 1953 Corvettes were hand built in Flint Michigan

Is there any real difference between 1973 US and Canadian manufactured Vettes?
Does the fact that it was made in Canada effect the value of a car?
Are they mechanically the same?
I think the Vettes made in Canada came with a Molson beer-bottle holder, and the Vettes made in England have the steering wheel on the right-hand side .....
The neat thing about vettes originally made for Canada is that GM Canada kept all the records. For a small fee you give them the vin and they give you the info on the car. I actually have a letter from GM Canada that says they have no info for my vin because my car was NOT originally made for Canada - and they didn't even charge me for that info! :)
So, if the car is a rare collectible vette, the extra documentation available from GM Canada can be a big plus as far as authenticating the car, which adds value compared to no docs. MJ
Re: Question about Vettes made in Canada (Dwayne 76)
Metric conversion was introduced by the federal government of Canada for the automotive industry in September of 1977: for the 1978 model year. So the first metric Corvettes exported to Canada (none were ever produced here) were the 1978s. And this is what it looks like. Basically just the speedo and odometer were metric although fasteners started to go mm also. You will find a mix of 9/16" and 14mm, as an example, beginning the late 1970s in the USA and Canada. Today, you would hard-pressed to find a GM oil drain bolt that is not 15mm, etc.

Sorry MNjack that was a error Please send $25.00 to paul79 he'll see to it that GM gets it :jester
Re: Question about Vettes made in Canada (88'Cubka)
If indeed your car was originally exported to Canada, this is the type of info that is available. Just a synopsis: my 1979 build date is November 6, 1978 and the shipping date to Canada was November 7. The dealer shipped to was in my city but went bankrupt some time ago. Some 5,535 1979 Corvettes were shipped to Canada of which 1,607 had the L-82 engine option.
From these type of data you can produce a repro window sticker. I love history and trivia. And at cruise nights that repro window sticker fascinates people. And it is entirely accurate as you obtained the data from GM.
