Default C&S Corvettes - Sarasota FL

Any members use these guys for service or repairs?? If so, how did it go? Its and hour drive from me and would like to know a little something about them before heading up there.

I'm looking for a knowledgeable and honest Corvette shop to look at the rear on my car and give me an informed opinion. Car sits square on the ground but when jacked up the ds wheel cants pretty good and the yoke pulls out from the rear housing a little, actually a little more than I would like. ps doesn't seem to move. Want to know if this is within normal limits and safe to drive. If not, reasonable repair.

Also, any other good shops between Sarasota and Ft.M?? You can IM or email me your responses if you don't want to post them.

Thanks

Go to Corvette Fever Magazine WEB page. They maintain a list of shops that are supposed to be recommended. You can look it up by state.

Ah - sounds like either the clip fell off your yoke inside the diff case,
or - the yoke has worn down against the center pin to the point that
there is no longer a groove to hold the clip.

Mine had worn down to the point of no longer having the groove. Another
telltale of the wear will be the lack of space (with car sitting on wheels
or wheel jacked up) between the dust shield on the yoke and the side
of the case. Here is a picture of mine sitting on the wheels with the replacement yokes :

Joe - Thanks for the tip, but I would rather have a recommendation from someone who has used a vendor rather than from a business that makes its money by selling advertising to them.

Dave - I'm afraid you are probably right. ? is where is the clip, as I don't know how long the car has been in this condition. If I knew it was vaporized I wouldn't worrry so much about it as the car does not get driven very far or hard. And, as you probably know, no use putting the ratty old exhaust back on, or the old shocks, may as well replace the donut while I'm there, POR15 everything, etc etc. This is gonna cost me a fortune even if I can do most of the work myself, which is questionable.

Tks guys and thanks to those who IM'ed me.
