I can't speak for certain on the 73 but I believe most of what your looking at is the remaining bits to the TCS wiring and the idle stop solenoid wire.

On the plug for the solenoid, there should be two wires, one goes over to the temp sensor in the passenger head (green I think) and the tan wire going into the firewall to the switch on the gas pedal.

Have a look at this thread and see if it helps, keeping in mind it's talking about a 72 and then there's some info on the differences between SB and BB and standard vs auto

Thanks for the reply! I am beginning to think that is what it is. What does TCS stand for anyways? Throttle Control System?

Transmission Controlled Spark. It prevented vacuum advance until top gear and fully warmed up.

So is this not on all C3s of the year 1972-1973? Also is it not on the normal wiring diagrams you get for these cars?

I own a '73 L-48 w/auto, so you made me look.

I have nothing like that in mine. Sorry.

It was supposed to be there, it's part of GM's PRS (power reduction system), basically meant to keep the ignition from advancing and reducing emissions (running hotter) until the car was fully warmed up. Most disappeared a long time ago

71 had a slightly different set up CEC I think they called it, included the idle stop solenoid.
I thought they used the system right up into 77 in one form or another but I could be wrong, 72 and 73 I'm fairly sure about

Check here for detailed 73 TCS info if you wish
http://www.73spot.com/index_stats_fi...ission/tcs.htm

As for the wiring diagrams, I've got several, some show it, most don't or it's on a separate page
