This is from underneath the console on a 78, auto gear shift. I flipped it and saw no difference in performance. It is behind the neutral safety switch.
Sorry for the crappy pics, it is the threaded bolt with a black switch on it, past the purple wires.

Is that accessible from the ash tray opening?
Looks like someone's added "kill" switch.

It's not accessible from the ash tray. The only way I could see reaching it is if the "guard" from the shifter was removed. It is behind it not in font of the shifter.
I thought it was a kill switch as well, but apparently not, since it started either way.

I'm thinking it isn't OEM. AND I was having issues with what I thought was neutral safety switch, but now I wonder since it seems someone has been in it.

I don't think its factory. I have a '79 and there is nothing like that in my console.
