I just put on a set of sidepipes recently and will hopefully start the car this evening. I used to always run the round port on previous bbc cars, but this time around Im running the Felpro 1410, wich is a square port design.

Stock port iron bbc head, wich when you really look at one is kind of square, like a stock manifold. Headers are Hooker 2 1/8". If it doesnt work, well I guess I will do like I used to do and go with the round port style, because maybe I over thought this "gasket matching the shape of the port on the head vs header" deal.

Same combo, I used either Percy's or Earls :dead soft" aluminum gaskets. Have touched them of had any leaks

Solid copper on Edelbrock TBI aluminum heads with "D" port exhausts. Same set for 11-12 years. No problems. I'm useless, don't remember brand.
