Hahaha, what a silly argument. All C3s are stingrays, sharks, and most importantly corvettes. You don't need an emblem to tell you that.

Wow. This is the most insightful post of the whole thread. Seriously. It really is just silly.

Someone called mine a vette one day. I kindly ask him to address it as a Cor vette. When he asked why, I told him I did not want it confused with a Che vette.

LOL! I had a Chevette, years ago, and I always jokingly referred to it as "the 'vette".

You may as well add 63`s and the others {through 67} to the stingray or whatever you call those fishes through the the 82`s.........Stingray is a Sting Ray...... right?

Any way I like the clean appearance of the 68`s with out the yearly badged up and frilly changes GM uses after the 68`s

Whatever

Also, the '61-'62 Corvettes had the rear end treatment of the '63-'67 Corvettes, do they count as Sting Rays?

AAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHHH!!!!! Enough already. This infection has managed to spread to here from the other side of the C3 forum. This is the tech/performance side. Why do we care about chrome name tags? Pass the penicillin please.

My 68 is not a Stingray.

Nope. A print media advertisement by Campbell-Ewald, probably prepared in the spring of 1967, called it that. By the time 68 production began, the Sting Ray designation had been dropped.

To follow your line of reasoning, you can probably find 1969 model year ad material touting the LT-1.

Vette....? Shark...? Sting Ray...? I worked on C3s when they were brand new, rolling off the delivery trucks at the dealerships. They weren't called any of those names by those of us working on them or by anyone I knew at GM. The cars often came in with the headlight doors in the "open" position, and these cars were called "Frogs."

You won't see it in any literature, but that's the name for these cars. Frog. I'm having an emblem made.
