Default Yes, Virginia, there is a Renegade...

Mine arrived today. Ordered it a week ago. Rebuild of engine is scheduled for July, here's a few pictures:

When I start the process I'll start a new thread to document it.

Yes. Ecklers carries them, Eddie Motorsports as well, I think one other. Eddie Motorsports has them in stock but I think there are only a few left until the next run. I called to ensure they were in stock before I ordered. I got mine from Eddie Motorsports.

Awesome! What else do you have planned for the motor?

I have a Lunati Voodoo Cam and lifters, 256/262, Still deciding on heads but looking at Dart SHP 180cc with 72cc chambers. I'm retaining the stock computer, that's why the cam is smaller. I should have 9.2 toi 9.4 compression with an .020 copper gasket, quench should be around .045, DCR comes in at around 7.88. Harland Sharp 1.6 roller rockers, cam is hydraulic flat tappet. Once I get the heads off and inspect the block I'll see what it needs as far as honing or boring and pistons. I'm hoping I just have to hone and re ring, but I have some funds set aside for pistons if I need them. I'm scheduling this for July, before I have to go back to work if it all works out. I'm not looking for a racer, just a good performing car with more power than a stock 82. I'm thinking rear wheel hp won't get over 300, if it gets there, but low end torque should be good and it should breathe well up to 5500 rpm, which it will rarely see. Its gonna just be a mild performance motor, but it should be a fun cruiser.

Heads ordered today, should be here Thursday. I went with Dart SHP 72cc chambers with 200 cc intake ports to allow for later upgrades. I'm meeting with my engine guy tomorrow.

With all the additional modifications you are considering for the engine upgrade, it will be difficult to ascertain any improvements that the RENEGADE is singularly responsible for. That being said, I still hope to learn from your experience and look forward to a pictorial outlining the entire process. Good luck.

I agree, since I'm doing a full rebuild instead of just an intake swap this will not be a good representation of the gains of just installing the Renegade manifold. Currently I have a ported stock manifold on the engine. Porting the stock manifold gained a small increase in power and raised the usable rpm range. The runners are impressive on the Renegade compared to even my ported manifold. Alconk on the forum put a Renegade on his 82 and said it made a major difference. Perhaps he will chime in on this thread and the upcoming build thread as well.
