Default Who has the best price on a Holley 4779 (750 double pumper)??

I want to change the carb on my 68' to a mech. secondaries carb. The recommended carb by the engine builder. The carb is $371.95 at Summit. They also have a remanufatored 4779 for $290.. However - it's on backorder - so it will take a while to get it...

Does anyone know about a place that sells those carbs cheaper??

You can always find a $50 4779 at a swap meet or on ebay, then get a $30 rebuild kit and put some elbow grease into it and really make it shine. I've seen someone selling a spray on coating to make them look like new (the holley gold looking coating). If yer gonna spend $380 on a carb, why not spend a hair more and go for a Speed Demon, which has higher quality parts (more billet, less cast), more adjustability, and looks far better.

Hope they don't send you the carb pictured

It is not a classic finish dp, probably just an oversite.

I got one off eBay in April for about $180 or so. MM was gracious enough to make some mods to it.

Might you be intersted in the one on my car. It is a 750 DP that has about 2000 miles on it. It looks brand new. I had the electric choke on it and it worked OK. Right now I have taken it off but have all the parts if you want them. I am looking to possiby go to a Demon if someone is interested in mine. Let me know if you are interested.

I would need one that is completely assembled and that works great. I actually would prefer one with milled down choke tower/airhorn.. With the choke tower - the carb woudn't get enough air through the primaries with my drop base air filter setup...

Here is what I exactly need: Holley 750 mech. secondaries without choke tower and 76 primary and 82 secondary jets... The best thing would be to find a used one with a similar setup...

Mine is on the car running now. It has 72 and 80 jets in it now. It does still have the choke tower on it. Has a 6.5 power valve. You can see by my times it is runnign pretty good.

I was going to ask 225 for the carb and 250 for carb and electric choke which I assume you would not be interested in.
