On my 69, my interior rear mirror is in great shape except for the actual reflective surface. It actually looks like some of the reflective material has worn off.
Is there a way to just replace the reflective glass part on these mirrors or do you have to buy a entire mirror?

Hi Jim-

The cost of the class is almost as much as the mirror and the reproduction mirrors are very nice.

I have to agree with Willcox. I needed a glass for my 74. I couldn't find a glass shop in Tulsa who would repair it. None of them. I found the correct glass online, but for what it cost as opposed to a new reproduction unit, I opted for a new assembly. Save the headache. Get a new one.

If originality is a concern, there are vendors that will re-silver the original glass.

If keeping it original is not a big deal. I opted to put a 93 firebird/Camaro rearview. It mounts to the windshield but the lights mounted on the rearview is why I went that way, it has separate reading lights and interior light when opening door

I'm going for original look. I am going to go home tonigjht and see if mine looks like the reproduction. I would like it to be an easy copy or as close as possible

I had the same problem with my 69. I got the replacement from Wilcox and could not tell the diff between the two.

My mirror looks like someone out a Chevrolet symbol sticker on it and than removed it. The mirror is missing the mirror reflective portion in that shape.

I came across an article in ncrs corvette restorer on how to restore the stock mirror assembly. I have over a hundred of those magazines so if I can find the issue number and date I will post it.

I just had the same problem on my '72. Sent the mirror glass to Walters Mirror in NY ( phone 781-366-0777 ) for resilvering I think the cost was $30 plus the shipping. It was easy to peel the flexible surround off the mirror glass.

I couldn't find a replacement for my 75 with a map light. I ordered the replacement glass and did it myself, pretty easy job.
