Default 1968 Corvette Door Outer Window Seals Replacement

I have searched for it but can only find this.

Planning on replacing my outer seals, anyone able to confirm that this is the article I should follow -or- have any tips before I begin?

For 68, you can probably replace the fuzzy without removing the stainless trim.

You will have to remove the door panel as shown in your link, but the seal and fuzzes on the '68 door are riveted to a metal bracket that screws onto the door.

Unbolt it, drill out the rivets, line up the new pieces and re-rivet.

Pretty easy job.

Here's a picture of everything except the seal.

Default outer seals

Just finished replacing glass and all seals in my 68 doors. To replace the outers.I only had to remove the bolts holding the seal in and work it around the frame. Its easier to do with door panels off and at least in mine,I found the replacement seal, gave me a difficult time putting the screw in bolts back in.. I took the seal to Home Depot and bought new machine bolts and finished it up with ease. Lot easier to do than I thought originally.. Good luck

I think that you guy's are thinking the inner seals. Kruegmeister is asking about the outer seals. If you aren't worried about originality, the 69-up outer seals, made by Corvette Central are rubber and better than the 68 only outer glass fuzzies, and they fit on a 68 door. I installed them on mine years ago when they were still available from GM, and replaced those with the CC ones four years ago. Lou.
