Sold my ricer and bought a ...
FORD!!
Yep. Can't decide which is worse :). I sold my Supra a few month ago. Got an offer I couldn't refuse. I've been driving my Vettes and Jeep around trying to decide what to buy next. Part of me really wanted a C5. Two reasons I didn't get one though. One, C5s are everywhere and I like driving cars a you don't see on the road a lot ('69 Roadsters for example). And Two, after moving recently I realized I really need a truck. Only problem is I love driving sports cars as daily drivers. Sooo I bought the only truck out there that is close to a sports car. A Ford Lightning. Not a normal Lightning mind you, a highly modified 11 second truck. It's pretty sweet.
This is my first Ford I have ever own so I guess I am not too much of a trader. At least it's not a Mustang  so don't flame me too much.

Dude - what about those SS pickups that Chevy produced for a while ? 454!!
The trouble is ... noone sells their Chevy trucks !!
That Ford sounds pretty sick. What size CID ??

I like the old 454SS trucks but I wanted something a bit newer for a daily driver.
If anyone wants info on a stock Lightning they can look here...
www.svt.ford.com
My truck is far from stock though. It was built by MTI, I have all receipts, dynos, flow numbers, timeslips, etc. . I even got a matching helmet and spare race wheels with slicks on the deal.

As long as you have your Vette anything else in the drive can just be transportation.
You could have waited for one of these.

Note that I said he could have waited for one! I didn't say I would have. I am afraid I agree with you! :U

Thats too bad. Were you just not crazy about the Supra? I had always had it in the back of my mind to get one. They seem to hold their value well and have crazy power. I'm surprised you wouldn't have upgraded it to the hilt. Guess they just get boring after awhile?
At least you didn't sacrifice any of your Vettes though. :) :yesnod:

Since you have a Vette (and a '69 at that) it is ok to drive a Ford. My CSV is a '67 Cougar with punched and stroked 289. It is fun and there are not alot of them out there. Neighbors really hate it when I crank her up with the Purple Hornies and straight pipes. "Kitty" does growl! Just make sure your put a license plate frame on your truck that says "My other car is a '69 Corvette" Kinda reminds me of the old joke about driving a Mack truck!

Why didn´t you buy a GMC Syclone? (spelled right  )
As much as I know it has a turbocharger and should be pretty fast....
I always wanted one of these, or is GMC just as aweful as Ford? :jester

I've always liked the Lightning...and after driving one (which was stock) I fell in love. I have been looking for a Black 2001 to replace my Jeep.
Great choice- post a pic if you ever get the chance.
