The heads are done now. I got a very "seal" using the fine grindering paste.

I would like to buy new push rods, and was thinking about new rocker arms also, so the push rods and the rocker arms are new.
I would also like to have the std. alu. valve cover on, with no spacer.

Will I gain anything going from 1.5 to 1.6, or is it best "just" to buy std. 1.5 rocker arms?

1.6 gives you alittle more lift but makes sure your holes in the heads for the push rods are big enough you get about 30ths more lift depending on what cam you have and make sure your valve guides dont need cut

I am 99% sure I will go for std. L46 cam, but I need to find out the CC for the pistons before I buy. But please assume the std. L46 cam.

Yes it is (cylinder 1) 0.0098" (1/4mm), is that ok?

Also I did have small leaks in cylinder 1 (both intake and exhaust), but after using the hand lapping paste (only fine), after 15min. they are NOT leaking. I will mesure the cc regarding the pistons ASAP.

Well u have to measure every guide not just #1 cyl.
My shop manual for my 1974 says stem clearance for the intake: 0.0010" to 0.0027" with service limit +/-0.001"
while exhuast clearance is: 0.0012" to 0.0029" with service limit +/-0.002"

Now hand lapping 15min would be excessive but now its done so lets see how it holds - u can compression test all cyls later.

Will I gain anything going from 1.5 to 1.6, or is it best "just" to buy std. 1.5 rocker arms?

For 1.6 ratio rockers u have to open up the p-rod slots in the heads - google Lewis tool for chevy heads - or else install guide plates with screw in studs and u would still have to open up the p-rods slots in the the heads.
Sorry for the late reply but i was on shift work for a week and dont have time for the internet.

Thx for the Denmark video c3. I didnt realize my geography was so bad as i had Denmark mixed up with the Netherlands - forgive me. All those happy people is hard to believe. We have happy people here in the US too but plenty of unhappy people to deal with. It seems like we have more greed here than culture and havent learned to recognize our neighbors as neighbors. I know Europeans learn several languages in high school while most in the US have a difficult time of one language. Well ill save my fix the world ideas for happy hour.

Thx for the specifications cardo0.
I can see that all guides are within specifications, great :- )

I've been thinking about 1.5 -v- 1.6 rocker arms, I think I will go for 1.5
The main reason is the 75 degrees ABDC GM L46 cam, I assume that when I close late on the intake, then I think a "fast" close (1.5) is the best solution.
As I see it, a 75 degrees ABDC and also 1.6 rocker arms goes "against" each other ??

Denmark is a nice place to live for sure, but we also have our "problems" here :- )
Yes you are right regarding several languages, we do speak several languages here in Denmark, we have to, we are a very small country.
But is you go to France, they speak French only (most of them), that is the same in many southern parts of Europe.

Regards,
John
