Default Edelbrock Rpm top end package?

I have an 81 vette with a 355, with flat top pistons, edelbrock performer cam, intake and carb. It's a great little motor but like everyone else I'm wanting a little more gitty up and go. I've been looking at the Rpm package that comes with cam, heads and intake. My question is, does anyone have this set up? The pros and cons? And what kind of clearance do you have?

I have the Performer RPM on my 406sbc.

The Performer RPM is 3/4 of an inch taller. I did go from a 3" element to a 2" element but it fit fine.

My other suggestion is unless the Edelbrock comes in a hydraulic roller cam, I would suggest looking at Lunati cam.

I guess my goal would be to have a street/strip set up. Something I could drive around town but also be able to smoke em if need be.

Post up your trans, rear gear ratio, cam specs. Might be best off leaving it all as is and spend that $1500 on a set of AFR heads.

The performer cam is small at best.....
Try a Comp XE274.....you will pick up at least 30hp...all things considered.....
But yes....give us the whole setup...with gear ratio....
I put headers, the 274...a rejetted Q-Jet, and performer intake on a 77 L-48 and it picked up huge....made it a different car...
Just make sure to curve the Distributor.
