Passenger side, on the block deck that sticks out about 1/2 inch from the front of the cyl head....hidden pretty good by the a/c comp.....shine a light down there maybe have to wipe some grit/oil off to see it clearly, the numbers should all look nice and straight and even depth....

Hi wb,
Looking at a 71 convertible!!!! NICE!
The stamp pad contains:
A code that states when the engine was assembled at the plant either in Flint for small block engines, or Tonawanda, for big block engines, and the configuration, (HP, transmission) that it was built-in.
And,
The vin sequence of the car it was installed in at the assembly plant in St.Louis.
Here's a typical 71 sb pad.
Regards,
Alan

No disrespect, wbriney, but if you do not know your way around these cars and do not know what you might be looking at when you get there, take someone with you who does.
