Anyone have Cragar SS wheels???
I was originally thinking of buying American Racing Torq Thrust II's, but I found that Jeg's has a set of Cragar SS wheels that look very similiar but are a little different. Does anyone have them on their car? Any pics? Are these wheels as high a quality as the American Racing wheels? Thanks in advance.

Hey, I would like to get a set of Cragar's too. Look like there are mixed reviews to your post. At best I believe the spacers are required to clear the calipers. What did you decide?

I won't be sure until I see some more pics, I was thinking about the Cragar's because they just came out with them in a 17" version, and everyone has the TT II's, so I thought the Cragars might be a little different than everybody else :D . At the moment though, I'm leaning towards the TT II's, they look cool, they're 17", you can use modern rubber, and they bolt right on.

I have a set on my car. You'll have to e-mail me for pics , though. Personally, I think they are the hottest set of mags that could ever grace a Vette. Yes, mine have to have spacers and yes they can be a pain in the butt at times. But they are worth it. I have BF Goodrich T/A Radials on my Cragar S/S. To me, there is NO other choice.

Re: Anyone have Cragar SS wheels??? (Ryan77)
I had a set of them in the late seventies. I had a 350 horses moving them and never had any problems. Back then I did not know anything about torque. I loved them then and if I ever decide to change the orginal wheels on my 81 vette I will get Cragars SS. I'm still undecided about 17" wheels. To darn old I guess. :mad

The 1 thing that bothers me about the crager's is the uni-bolt pattern. I'm not big on the drop in piece that makes the bolt pattern different for different make cars. I have heard here at Moroso drag strip you can not run your car if you have the Cragar rims. I love the look of the rims and I believe that the older models didn't use the drop in piece to create the bolt pattern.

I don't think that anyone mentioned the Cragar S/S's are steel while the TTIIs are aluminum. Because of this I think I'm going to go with some 17" TTIIs or similar style when the time comes and budget allows - which won't be for a while. I would be curious to hear the actual weight difference.
