Anyone have a trailer hitch on their C3 ?
It seems that getting a hitch for the BMW might be problematic. Curious if anyone has a hitch installed on their Corvette.

No, but the C3 can tow about 1000 lbs or so, quite easily.
If you have a fiberglass rear spring though, I wouldn't reccommend it.

I'm pretty sure that there was an optional towing package avialable in some years. It used a reese style hookup under the liscense plate to keep it hidden. At least one 'Corvette News' magazine from around 70-71 has an article on pulling a camper with the vette.

I saw one on a '77 that I almost bought. It was an original option. With the gobs of torque a 350 offers, towing shouldn't be a problem!

I have the factory installed hitch on my 78. I have not used it though. Here are a few pics so you can see the set up.

Where are you supposed to put the license plate?? Are you sure that is factory???

I have copies of 1977 and 1979 Chevrolet Corvette brochures and they do call out :
1977:"Trailering equipment available for loads up to 4,000-lb GVW"
1979: Under Micellaneous options " Chassis equipment - trailering"

Bet there was a flip up bracket for the plate so you flip it up when towing. May have been removed. Just a guess though.
