Default So I think I have a miss on one of the cylinders

What would be the logical progression of narrowing the problem? Whats between pulling the plugs to see if they have buildup and just removing the head?

Try just pulling the wires first to see if the 'miss' can be located to a cylinder.

Get some plastic pliers to pull plug wires one at a time to see if the miss gets worse (good wire) or stays the same (bad wire). If you suspect a wire might be bad, get a spray bottle of water with a couple of drops of dish soap and spray the wires from the cap to the plugs. If you have bad wires, at night it makes a really nice light show.

(the plastic pliers get your fingers away from the sparks. I usually don't use them, but I've been zapped so many times over the last 50 years it's just another day at the office. I DO use them on HEI systems. (They BITE!)

Do you have headers? You can see which one is cooler than the rest.

check your cap and rotor also .if you remove the plugs ,test them for resistance with a meter .make sure the #5 & 7 plugs are not switched .
