Default OT: Am I the only one who doesn't care for the '63-'67 body style?

To me atleast the mid-years just do not have the curves of the C3. I have a friend that has a '67 427 L36 roadster and it's beautiful, but looks tame compared to C3. I have to admit the '63 split window coupe is the most appealing to me, I could never shell out the money for the mid year body style. It's not lack of money, just it does nothing for me.

Now the '56-'62 ear is a TOTALLY different story, I love them. :D
Anyone else favor the C3 body style over the '63-'67 mid-years?

My favourite is the C1 (dual headlight) roadsters, followed by C2 roadsters then C3/4/5 roadsters. I guess that I just like the vette as a roadster, not meant in any way whatsoever as a criticism of the t-tops at all.

The C3 has really grown on me the last few years, but I'm still undecided about which one I like best. The only ones I don't love completely are the modern ones, meaning anything newer than 83. :D

This is a bit like walking up to a guy dressed like Mr. Worf at a Star Trek convention and asking if he prefers Klingons to Cardassians!!

Yup, I bet there are LOTS of people in this C3 forum who favour the C3 body style over the C2 ... and I count myself among them. The C2 body style has never got my heart beating the way the Shark does.

You are not the only one....though you guys are few and far between. Even though I have a roadster, the early C3 couples are fast looking. The C2's look more like muscle cars are opposed to sport cars.

My favorite years are 58 - 60, 63 split window, 68 - 72 and 80 - 82. I like the mid years but C3's and the 58 - 60 style are more appealing to me. My favorite mid year Vette is the C2/C3 Hybrid of Stephen DeFazio!!

All them fast back designs are plain ugly, '63 SWC included....
only C2 that looks good is a '67 convertible BB......but someone got to do something good with those God awful stock wheels and tires....

interior wise, I dunno, never owned one, too long to remember sitting in one even....think the steering wheels are too large though, off hand...have to drive it first....

the solid axel cars are pretty to look at from 53-60, but abominable to drive...handle like junk....I used to own a '60, uncomfortable....
the 61-62 look like a 1/2 bastard stepchild from a 60 and a '63 convertible...
just don't look right....

the later one's look like *** imports....that's equally true for C4 and C5....

I really like the 58-60, big teeth grill looks neat. I like the 63 SWC, other than that I am not a fan of the C-1 or C-2's :chevy

Yes the C3 is sexy and I love the curves. I would gladly take a 63. :D

No Corey I don't think your the only one. I am not posting to crap on anyones preference but I too don't go crazy about C-2's. It's kinda a relief, I don't have to worry about spending a fortune on a car thats only used for shows. But when I see them at shows I do enjoy looking at them. Especially the C-1's, very beautiful era, but what a pain to get in and out of......
They are all PART OF THE CORVETTE HERITAGE.

I love them all. C1-C5. Chrome bumpered sharks are my favorite with the 53-55's running a close second.

There was a time when I said that C2 looks like soap box... Nowadays I also like C2's, it seems that my taste has changed a bit. Also it seems that more I look C2's the more I like them...

I'm with him, except replace C2 with C4 and "soap box" with "door stop". :D

Actually, I've come to like the C2 less and less over time, not saying I dislike it at all, but it used to hold a very high place in my heart, and I've started to like the newer vettes more and more as time marched on.

Yikes - I hate to admit it but I love mid year design.
If someone with the right midyear wanted to trade me for both my cars, I'd have a hard time saying no.

You may be 1 of few. I like C2. The C2 W/ IRS was described by Duntov as a car he would be proud to drive in Europe, i.e. a world class sports car. It could easily be argued that 63 is worst of C2- no 4 wh. discs... The idea was to improve the design each year.

I could easily get by w/ a 66-67 BB coupe w/ al. heads. Prefer 70-74 & 77.
