71 Windshield wiper issue
This has me stumped. Leaving for Cars and Coffee Fort Worth this morning, and a mile from the house the wipers mysteriously started up and stopped cold at the top of the sweep.
Came back to the house, removed the upper AC vent and messed with the switch, tried the vacuum override, and checked the fuse, the obvious connections, etc. Nothing. Can't get the wipers or door to move at all.
Guidance on next troubleshooting step?
Thanks.

You probably already checked this but dont you have the rotary **** between the wiper and headlight override switches? Is it turned to stop the wipers?

While looking at the vacuum override, I checked the rotary **** position several times. Since the wipers came on and stopped without any warning or my touching the switch, that does not seem to be it.
Thanks.
Thanks.
