Default Found a 68 L79 where it did not belong, what now?

I bought a 350 badged 69 Camaro Convertible form a relative. She has had it since 1974. She thought the motor was original. I looked into it, and I have learned it is an L79 from a 68 vette. Here are the pics to the castings and engine stamp. http://www.camaros.net/forums/album.php?albumid=1481

Partial VIN = 18S415780
Engine Code = V0325HT
Engine Block Casting - 3914678
Cylinder Head Casting - 3917291 / C 19 8.

The person who did the engine swap did not take the vette's intake or carb, so this is an L79 with 69 Camaro 350 2 barrel intake (3916313) and a 2 barrel Rochester carb. I think this was done due to fact the L79 was for a manual and the Camaro is an auto (kickdown issue, pedal linkage, etc.)

I was leaning toward leaving the motor in the Camaro and bringing this L79 back up to snuff with the right intake and a 4 barrel carburetor. My question is what parts do I need to do that? I have a 4 barrel 1969 Camaro Qjet. I assume I need an intake with casting 3927184 and I need to check the exhaust manifolds for 3932461 (Left) and 3872765 (right). (The car is currently dual exhaust.) I would then need 327 valve covers from a Vette and the air cleaner from a 327 vette. Do you agree with the casting numbers I listed? Are there others? Would there be any difference in the distributor? Am I missing anything?

A member of camaros.net also suggested I see if this if someone had the matching car or needed the L79 motor. Therefore, I may post this in the classifieds, but thought I would see if this matched anyone's car here.

Just not really sure what to do with it at this point, but it is being under-utilized with the wrong intake and carb. I also only have monoleaf springs in the back with a 10 bolt rear end and drum all the way around. This may just not be the right motor for this car.

Regardless, please let me know if I have the parts right and whether I am missing anything, so I can start looking for parts.

Thanks for the help

Swap the intake and carb. Unless you're wanting to do more, no need to swap anything else. You will need a 4bbl air cleaner too.
There are a bushel basket full of aftermarket intakes out there that will perform equal to or better than the stock L79 intake.

While not totally consistent, my goal is to have a stock, period correct 1968 L79 motor in my existing stock, otherwise period correct 1969 Camaro, so I am trying to avoid aftermarket. My goal is to get the right casting numbers/part descriptions for what I need then go to the WTB board and post requests.

Can someone confirm the casting numbers for the intake and exhaust manifolds? It seems all I need otherwise are the valve covers and an air cleaner.

Eventually I will have to deal with the fact I only have a 3 speed T350 transmission mated to the L79 motor.

Thanks.

TH350 in good condition will live fine behind a stock L79.

Excellent. Thanks for the numbers and the comments on the transmission. Hopefully I can locate the parts.
