Well, car is on the road 3 months and I just got rearended.
Came at an intersection where I had to give priority. Was standing still waiting for the cars passing. Took my time, since I was in no hurry. Suddenly the guy behind me in a BMW decided that it was time to leave and ran into my back.
Car is just on the road after a 15 year restojob (body off). Sometimes I think this car is made for bad luck.
At least i'm unhurt.

Excuse my Dutch...
It's every corvette owners nightmare and I really feel for you. Hope the insurance company pays out enough and quickly.

I feel your pain. I had my car on the road 2 weeks....and I was about to get deployed for a year...when my front tire actually FELL OFF and got wedged up under the front fender. Cracked the fender from the windshield to the middle of the wheel well. The paint job was less than a year old and has a custom blue pearl in the clear coat that to this day I still cant find anyone to replicate.
I think you may have it right...some of these cars just have bad ju-ju.

What a bummer....You're not hurt...and the car can be fixed...
Did you miss the part where he said it was a BMW driver?
Richard
Is that really Dutch? Why would you speak Dutch to a Belgian? Is the OP Dutch, and just lives in Belgium? Anyway, I'm glad you are uninjured, and I hope the damage is quickly repairable. I thought Europeans were supposed to be such better drivers than us Americans. I guess you have knuckleheads driving around everywhere, eh?

Yes, I see them creeping up real close everytime I'm out. Same with this one. I have been wondering if it was the mirror or something. Apparently not.

Sorry to hear about your Corvette. But, I have also experienced BMW drivers right on my rear bumper. They think because I'm driving a Corvette that I'm automatically going to race or something. I'm just out for a cruise !

That was one of the things I was thinking when it happened.
When they are trying to crawl up to your rear, I tried to outrun them, but there is always a point where I have to brake and then it gets even more dangerous because they have been trying to follow you and have to really get into the brakes. I learned that slowing down to a point where they will pass you is more effective.
