Default 68 Needs a Clutch

Hi Guys My 68 is in need of a clutch and Ive done a lot of browsing on here and read different things. First Im not sure if mine is an M20 or M21, does it matter? I also se a lot of pivot ball issues which worries me a bit. Do I need a different pivot ball for certain clutches? I read with centerforce I need a longer pivot ball. Ive had many many cars but since I have some bad leg issues Ive never had a 4spd until now so Ive never had to replace a clutch. Can you guys shed some light on this and point me in the right direction with what I need to do before I order a clutch, what to look for, what to avoid etc . . .

Thanks Guys!
Chris

Well make sure you know how many splines are on your input shaft either 10 or 26. Next is size usually 10.5 or 11 inches. Next is whether you have stock setup or custom like flywheel, bellhousing etc....

If everything is stock just reference original pivot ball and use that but hard part is size of throw out bearing which usually comes with the kit you buy. Most likely you can adjust linkage for TO bearing differences.

Thats a start.....

I would pull the trans before you order the clutch so you can get all the pertinent info such as splines and diameter as posted above.
