AC/heater removal
Ok been meaning to start this project for awhile. I use my car for light cruising and drag racing and the fuse is pulled for the ac/heater anyway and most of the AC stuff is long gone, no coolant lines hooked up. I want to remove the AC/heater and I'll make a plate to block off the firewall. I need the room under the hood anyway for the dedicated nitrous fuel system. I have been researching the removal and it seems it's going to be a PITA. Still maybe not too bad because I'm not trying to replace anything.
The engine is still in the car and I'd appreciate any advice before I start because I'm not sure if it's more than a week job and I should leave it for when I park the car. I'm hoping I won't have to tear apart the interior or can leave that part for another time.

You'll need to pull the right dash panel. And it's going to take some finesse to get the A/C box off the front of the firewall, but it's doable. I removed the factory A/C and installed a Vintage Air system in the 77 I had.

Cool thx, just found some good info on how to do it. Seems sometimes I can't find the information I need until I ask. 4 bolts 3 inside & 1 under the hood and pry it apart.

I think there are 4 under the hood.. 1 of those can be easily gotten to from beneath the car, next to the heater hoses, 2 are easily seen from the top and one you are going to have to feel for on the other side of the blower.
