What does a stock 79 w/ L48 do at the wheels?

What does a stock 79 w/ L48 do at the wheels?
I know the motor is rated at 195 but what would it be on a dyno?

A 23-year-old engine is going to be be slightly down in horsepower to begin with (timing chain dwell, compression loss, etc.) It also depends on the type of transmission as well. 15% or more loss at the rear wheels.

I put my original '77 L48 on a dyno (factory rating 180 hp) and it came out at 180 hp. Not too shabby for a car with about 95,000 miles at the time.

I would say about 3 hp to the ground ;-) maybe 160 or so. Time for mods.

I am putting my 78 L-48 on a Dyno on saturday. I will follow up with a post on my numbers.. Stay tuned.
