Front End Reinstallation After Birdcage Repair
I am starting to think ahead to things I have been avoiding but I can't put it off much longer.
I am changing the frame and in the end doing a complete rebuild on my 73. Thus far I have been doing the frame/suspension/power train with the body sitting in the other room waiting it's turn.
Since my old frame has evidence of water leaking down in front of the #2 body mount I fully expect to have issues around the windshield frame. (haven't had the guts to look yet, one job at a time keeps me from losing focus)
I am thinking about the need to remove the front end and possibly the firewall from the back part of the body to do repair work.
Is the preferred method to reinstall the nose after the rear body is on the frame or do it before installing the rear body on the frame? It seems to me to maybe reinstall the firewall first, then install the body on the frame second then finally put the nose back on. Also any reason to hold off putting the engine in the frame until after the nose is back on?
I know all of this seems like a bunch of random thoughts stuck together, but this forum is a wealth of knowledge and I hope to learn from other peoples experiences.
Thanks
Mark

If your going to take the thing apart to fix all that stuff then putting the front end back on after the body is squared up on the frame would be the way to go.
Putting together a long term plan is the smart thing to do, set the proper priorities and get it done best you can.
