Default Replacing Brake Lines, with body on

On my 1968, I have to replace my brakes lines as they began to leak. I am working on the line form the master cylinder to the rear on the driver side. At the rear the old line is giving me difficulty. What is the best way to remove the line without damaging the part where they lines join? I was ready to use heat, but was concerned as I do have a leak and I was worried about starting a fire :-(

Starting a fire with brake fluid is not an issue.

Use as much heat as you need using the correct size flare wrench.
I replaced all the lines on my 75 with the body on and whilst it was a PITA, a little heat and the correct tools got the job done.
Have a beer ready for the ' I did it ' moment.
