Who's got the best kit to trade out my Auto tranny for a Manual one
I have 75 with a automatic tranny and would like to swap it out for manual one. What's the best kit available and what are some of the pit falls with this swap. I'm about to do install a zz4 crate engine to. Thanks

I just ordered a complete kit from Hurst Driveline Conversions to do a 4L80 to T56 swap in my Chevelle. The swap actually begins this week but so far I have been pretty happy with everything. I hear good things about American Powertrain as well!

The keisler kit is pretty good. I would ask and see if they have a exhaust pass under removable cross member.

I got the complete Kiesler 5 speed kit ( .67 overdrive). It came with every nut and bolt from pedal assembly fly wheel, clutch, to drive shaft. They come in 400, 500 and I think 600 ft/lbs torque rating.

Research the gear ratio's on the trans you are considering. You want to match the trans to your rear gear ratio.A 10:1 first gear ratio is recommended.Example,a 3.08 rear gear and a 3.28 first gear in the trans will give you a 10.1.Also consider the over drive ratio, with a 3.08 rear gear you don't want to much over drive or you will lug the engine at lower highway speeds. My Richmond 6 spd is ideal for a lower powered engine and 3.08 rear gears. The close ratios keep the engine in it's power band....
