zz383 timing
Ok is this a typo on GM's part? The instructions say 32 all in at 4000, but if you look at the tech specs on chevrolet performance website it says 32 all in at 3000. Which is it!!

It doesn't matter. Total timing is 32. Bring it in as fast as the engine will take it without detonation, which is likely to be in the 2800 rpm range.

Well i still need to tinker with the timing tonight. found a burnt wire last night so i had to order some new ones. So ill tweak things and get back here. I havent had it dyno tuned yet either so i really need the carb setup also. Sometime first week of july for that. Its got some torque, i like it for a good cruising motor. Ive gotten so use to my camaro big block that its hard to judge this motor reasonably. I have it setup with a holley street hp vac sec, bowtie overdrive 200r4, 3.55 rear gears. Ill know more once i get it dialed better. I have an msd 6530 box so i can change curves with a laptop, makes life easier.
