need some help with a 79 door handle rod ,I'll try to describe this the best I can ,ok the rod from the outside door handle has a large pin that threads on the end and goes into a hole with a clip ,how in the heck do you put it in the clip and hole and then move the clip so it locks on the pin (,I see there is a groove on the pin ) does the pin not go all the way in the hole ,,, This is awful please help with any diagrams possible thanks

You put the clip back in it's place and then just push the pin into the hole. It will snap in place where the groove is on the ring.

ps. If you took that clip off completely rather then sliding it about 1/4inch, make sure it goes back on with the same side facing the pin. Otherwise IIRC you might not be able to secure that pin. It's been a long time.

IIRC you put the rod thru the hole, then place the clip over the end of the rod, then rotate the clip so it snaps over the rod.
