What are you guys using for a battery disconnect switch?
Considering my 76 will be driven weekends/shows, the car will be sitting in the garage. I have a battery cut off on the negative side of the battery terminal but it's a nuisance to unscrew the plastic **** to disconnect with a side mounted connection - facing the back of the battery well.
Suggestions, what are you guys using?

Nothing! My 73 sits for several weeks sometimes and always starts right up. Remember these were new cars at one time that people treated just like any other car. If it has a good battery it should be good for the whole winter!

a top post battery with the disconnect there, also went with a 'blade' cutoff. much easier to deal with when I need to leave the hood or doors open while I having 'corvette therapy'. my former girlfriend who did me the honor of marrying my old self last week , came up with that phrase. hope this helps.

Melting Slicks
i used to have one on the battery itself
big pain opening the lid all the time to disconnect, especially when the lids n chairs are in the back
so,
i mounted one on top of the wheel arch, behind the seatbelt retractor.
all fits nicely under the '77 trim covers i have on the '72
drilled 4 holes, fed new wires down and the into the side of the box from the outside
now all i have to do is tilt seat foward, reach around to back of cover and insert the key
also put a ciggie lighter socket on the bracket, handy for the gopro on long runs

I use a blade switch that I modified to go on the positive terminal. I need the ground connected so I can run a wire from the hot side of the blade to the LS1 ECM memory. I can see that it would be a pain to operate when the stowage are is full but I generally disconnect the battery when the car is emptied out and in the garage.

Congratz!
I use the hella key-type disconnect, mounted in de middle storage compartiment. That way I just have to reach behind me and turn to cut off all the power

Hi Mike,
I have a side terminal battery and use the 'screw' type disconnect. There's enough room since the terminals face the rear of the battery box and the battery hold-downs position the battery toward the front of the box.
The disconnect means I need to re-set the clock but that gives me something to do while the engine warms up.
Peace of mind!
Regards,
Alan
