1969 BB Corvette Starter Originality Question...
Guys,
Silly little question about a detail with my starter. I've got the correct starter for my car but it's been rebuilt at some point. It currently has the "smashed pin" in place for the bendix fork but I don't think this is correct.
I've seen a few different pics of early C3 starters on ebay that appear to be untouched because they are rusty etc. Some have a pin with a "C" clip on the pass side of the starter. 2 Other versions have a through bolt and nut on the pass side of the starter where the bolt is approx 1/4" longer than the nut... the last variant has the end of the bolt flush with the surface of the nut.
Which one is right for a 1969 Big Block.
