Default turn signal issue

Ok, this is a minor issue but it's bugging me and I cannot seem to find the cause.

My dash light for the turn signal works when I put the right signals on but not when I put the lefts on. The lights however do work.

What is causing this ?

Thanks

I would say it is the bulb behind the instiment cluster is burned out. This will not affect the outside lights

Replacing the bulb on a '79 is relatively easy; it can even be done without completely removing the cluster. Bulbs are available at regular autoshops for about € 1,50 for a 12-pack.

Just unbolt, remove airduct under dash and then reach up from under the dash. Takes a bit of pratice and some contortionist skills though

If you remove the cluster, bare in mind to pay close attention to the speedo-cable at the back of the cluster; it uses a square ended inner cable that slides in the socket of the gauge. I found loosening the cable at the cruise control unit end (next to the brake booster) and first connecting the gauge end easiest.
